Mountain Ash and Berries

At higher elevations in West Virginia autumn brings a colorful display in the form of the mountain ash.  This photo was taken along Forest Service Road 75 on Dolly Sods in the Monongahela National Forest.  Legend says that the more berries there are, the harsher the winter.
